Opera To Showcase Its Smart TV Developments In London


Opera Software is set to show off a bunch of its latest product demos at this year?s IP&TV World Forum in London.

At Opera's booth, the software company will showcase how your smartphone can be used as a smart remote control to navigate the web, write your email fast or harness HTML5 games.

Opera will also presents the Opera TV browser, optimized for Linux and Android platforms and coming with new features such as the companion screen interaction. The Opera TV browser is powered by the latest version of the Opera Devices SDK, now also available for manufacturers around the world.

The Opera TV Store, an HTML5-based app store, packed with new features such as WebGL support, will be also showcased at the IP&TV World Forum. On top of that, Opera is unleashing an enhanced version of Opera for HbbTV, with support for the HbbTV 1.5 specification and extended OIPF support.

In addition, MIPS Technologies and Opera teamed up to bring the Opera Devices Software Development Kit (SDK) to the MIPS processor architecture. Based on this collaboration, the Opera TV Store and the Opera TV browser with WebGL support are now available for MIPS-based DTVs, set-top boxes and other digital home devices.

Opera will demonstrate its Opera TV Store and new Opera TV browser for Android and Linux platforms on the MIPS-Based BCM7425 SoC from Broadcom at the IP&TV World Forum in London, being held March 20 - March 22, in booth 95 in the Olympia Exhibition Center.
