Canon today announced the availability of the Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile applications for iPhone, BlackBerry smartphones and the iPad.

The application provides BlackBerry smartphone, iPhone and iPad users with a mobile print and scan solution that integrates their devices with their Canon imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems.

The Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile application for Blackberry is a combination of two separate applications:

- A multifunctional embedded application platform (MEAP) application that runs on Canon's imageRUNNER multifunction products (MFP)

- A mobile client application that resides on BlackBerry smartphones

Together the applications provide communication between Canon MFPs and BlackBerry smartphones allowing users to perform print and scan functions between the two devices, such as scanning from the MFP to BlackBerry smartphones or printing from BlackBerry smartphones to the MFP.

The mobile client application is available now as a free download from BlackBerry App World. The MEAP application is available for purchase from Authorized Canon Dealers.

The Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile application provides communication between Canon multifunction products (MFP) and an iPhone and iPad, allowing users to perform print and scan functions between the two devices, such as scanning from the MFP to an iOS device or printing from an iOS device to an MFP.
