Samsung Readies PCIe Flash Products

Samsung plans to compete with PCIe flash companies this year with the introduction of PCIe flash cards in the second half.

Peyman Blumstengel, a member of Samsung's strategic business development, said that PCIe flash cards are included at the company's roadmap fror this year. PCIe Flash cards are solid state storage devices (SSD) that plugs directly into the PCI express slots of an individual server. By placing fast storage near server processors generally improves application performance.

Samsung is also expcted to focus on high-density 25nm DRAM in the 32GB to 64GB range with a lower power draw as well as in the upcoming . DDR4 memory, which will probably be available at the end of 2014.
