Nvidia And AMD Release New Beta Graphics Drivers

Geforce and Radeon gamers may be interested in the latest beta drivers released by Nvidia and AMD, respectively. Both packages improve performance with latest games.

In conjunction with a game patch that Crystal Dynamics for Tomb Raider released earlier today, Nvidia recommends that GeForce users update to the new GeForce 314.21 drivers. They are promising to provide major gains in reliability and performance in the game ? delivering an average of 45% and up to 60% performance improvements (as measured with GeForce GTX 680 at 1920?1080 and 2560?1600 resolutions).

For Radeon users, AMD has made available the AMD Catalyst 13.3 Beta Driver for Windows, which offer:

- Improve performance in Sim City 5 up to 16 percent
- Improves performance in Far Cry 3 up to 5 percent
- Improves latency performance issues seen in Tomb Raider and Hitman Absolution
- Resolves slight corruption seen in Tomb Raider with TressFX enabled for CrossFire and single GPU configurations
