OnePlus 6 Smartphone Comes With Snapdragon 845 SoC, Notched Screen and 4K @60 Video Shooting

OnePlus 6 has officially launched today in an event in the U.K. and packs power, good camera setup and a design that reminds of the iPhone X.

The new smarthone has a 6.28" Optic AMOLED display (1,080 x 2,280 pixels, supports sRGB and DCI-P3) with an 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch. It's an OLED screen similar to the iPhone X. Since there's no fingerprint sensor on the front, the screen goes almost everywhere - it's 84% of the phone's front. That's a pixel density of around 401ppi, the same as the iPhone 8 Plus, but lower than the iPhone X's 458ppi.

The camera 16 MP main camera boasts 4K @ 60 fps video recording and it can shoot 480 fps slow-mo videos at 720p resolution for 3.75s. This sensor has an f/1.7 aperture and big pixels 1.22 microns. It has optical image stabilization.

The other is a 20MP sensor, with the same f/1.7 aperture and slightly smaller pixels (1 micron). As on the iPhone X, one is wide-angle and the other is telephoto, offering the equivalent of 2x zoom as you move seamlessly from one to the other lens. Smart Capture automatically optimizes image quality based on what you are shooting and there's a new and improved HDR algorithm.

The 16 MP front camera uses an AI to create the Portrait mode's bokeh. You can unlock the phone in just 0.4s using the front camera, or by using the fingerprint reader on the back.

In terms of appearance, the OnePlus 6 has a metal and glass designand comes in three distinct color options - a reflective Mirror Black, a matte Midnight Black and a Silk White.

The OnePlus 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset, it comes with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and you can have up to 256 GB of 2-lane UFS 2.1 storage.

The battery is rated at 3,300 mAh and is charged over the fast Dash Charge (5V at 4A).

The OnePlus 6 will be available in North America, Europe and Asia (China, India, S. Korea), starting from May 22. Prices are as follows:
