 Altec Lansing Unveils Five Speaker Systems for Music Where You Listen Most: MP3 Mobile Phones, iPods and PCs

Message Text: Altec Lansing, a division of Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), today unveiled a series of ultra-light, ultra-portable Bluetooth and corded speaker systems designed to deliver clear, rich audio directly from MP3 enabled mobile phones, iPods, laptops and other portable digital devices. The Company also unveiled the latest PC speaker system for flat-panel displays.

"Multimedia phones have elevated the utility of handsets beyond voice, and MP3 players and laptops are fundamentally changing the way consumers access and experience their favorite music and entertainment," says Bernice Cramer, vice president of Integrated Communications and Entertainment Products for Altec Lansing. iMT521 SoundBlade Stereo Bluetooth Speaker: Sharp Sound & Style



The leading product in the new Altec Lansing inMotion portfolio is the iMT521 SoundBlade stereo Bluetooth speaker system - a modern and stylish sound panel featuring dual 2? full-range high output speakers and full stereo Bluetooth v.2 for wireless connectivity with most A2DP stereo Bluetooth mobile phones and laptops.

The Altec Lansing iMT521 SoundBlade is equipped with AVRCP for two-way remote volume, mute and track forward/back controls from a cellular handset. The speaker system also conveniently houses a built-in echo-canceling microphone for wireless speakerphone capability. The 'blade-like' design, carried over from the successful iM500 iPod speaker, measures 6.125? H x 11.125? W x 1.0 D for easy portability. Supports both AC and battery (AA) power.

iMT207 Orbit-M and iM207 Orbit-MP3: The Ideal MP3 Companion

Clean and simple design plus palm-sized portability are the earmarks of Altec Lansing?s new iMT207 Orbit-M and iM207 Orbit-MP3 ultra portable speaker systems. Orbit is designed to project surprisingly loud, rich sound in all directions. Featuring Fusion360 technology, the Altec Lansing Orbit integrates a cone design with a custom-built 40mm speaker driver to project a 360-degree sound field ? while weighing in at a mere 8oz. (.23kg). The Orbit is shock resistant and uses AAA batteries for up to 24 hours continuous play time.

The Altec Lansing iMT207 Orbit-M features a 3.5mm connector for iPhones and most MP3 players, with a 3.5mm-to-2.5mm adapter for most enabled music phones. The iM207 Orbit features a 3.5mm connector for iPod, iPhone, MP3 players and laptops.

iMT217 Nōbi? Speaker for Nokia XpressMusic Phones

Announced in August, Altec Lansing and Nokia co-developed the new Nōbi? as a stereo system accessory to Nokia?s new XpressMusic series of MP3 enabled mobile phones. The combination of Altec Lansing?s stereo speaker expertise and Nokia?s advanced music enabled handsets reflect the two companies' dedication to offering consumers a dynamic, simple and portable music experience.

Small enough to fit in a pocket, bag or backpack, the compact Nōbi portable speaker system weighs only 10oz. (.28kg). When coupled via the 3.5mm connector to a Nokia XpressMusic mobile phone or any other audio device, the Nōbi provides rich, clear 360-degree sound. AAA batteries offer 24 hours of audio play time.

The new Nōbi will be available in October 2007 at leading wireless retailers in Europe. MSRP $39.95.

FX3020 SoundBar Speaker System for Flat-Panel PCs

Altec Lansing has also delivered a way to reclaim desk space with the simple, single speaker solution for the unused area beneath flat panel monitors. Altec Lansing?s new SoundBar is a one-piece, low-profile rectangular speaker system featuring precision-angled drivers and built-in sfx (sound field expander) sound-widening technology. XdB technology enhances bass performance. The simple design features a single in/out cable to remove wire tangles and clutter, and side-positioned auxiliary input and headphone jacks allow easy connection and access. A single knob puts all of the controls at your fingertip, including on/off volume and mute.
