Message Text: On January 15, 2010, Toshiba, the authorized licensor for DVD6C, filed demands for arbitration to collect DVD royalties due under DVD6C patent licenses.

Toshiba filed demands for arbitration to collect royalties with Duplium Corporation ("Duplium") (Canada), Advanced Duplication Services LLC ("ADS") (USA), MAF Diskettes s.r.l. ("MAF") (Italy) and Bestdisc Technology Corporation ("Bestdisc") (Taiwan).

The company said that it subsequently reached a settlement of its claim against Bestdisc, but it would continue to pursue arbitration proceedings against Duplium and ADS. MAF has commenced bankruptcy proceedings in Italy. As a result, Toshiba said that it would not intend to pursue arbitration proceedings against MAF, but had reserved the right to resume proceedings in the future.
