Message Text: Struggling Sharp Corp. is positioning its energy-saving IGZO liquid-crystal display panels, as a pillar of its business revitalization efforts and aims to raise the output from its Kameyama No.2 plant to near 100 percent.

The Yomiuri newspaper said on Sunday that the Japanese company will produce more energy-efficient IGZO liquid-crystal display panels at its its Kameyama No.2 plant, with the plant's output to raise from 30 percent to 100 percent.

IGZO diaplays are used in smartphones, tablet computers and other mobile computer devices.

The company has won orders for larger 30-inch displays from manufacturers, the report said, without citing sources.

Sharp secured $4.6 billion in emergency loans from its banks in September and forecasts a 450 billion yen ($5.66 billion) net loss for the current business year ending next March.
