Message Text: Samsung added the enhanced Series 7 Chronos and the Series 7 Ultra ultrabooks to its Series 7 PC lineup. The company will be also releasing the Smart TV SDK 4.0 and an updated Evolution Kit at CES 2013.

The new Series 7 Chronos provides enhanced processing power for professional users and a new software solution RAM accelerator that boosts the browsing and application speeds by taking advantage of the existing memory.

Ten-finger multi-touch capabilities enhance the overall experience, allowing the user to interact directly with the screen, as well as the touchpad and keyboard. With a full aluminum body, the new Series 7 Chronos is packing an Intel quad-core processor with up to 16GB of memory, up to 1TB of storage and dedicated 2GB external graphics into a slim chassis that measures just 20.9mm (0.82 inches).

The new Series 7 Chronos also features a high resolution, Full HD display (1920x1080), with 300nit brightness, as well as rich sound with JBL optimized speakers, and an extended battery life of 11.5 hours. The laptop wakes up in as little as two seconds and boots in under twelve seconds.

As the first Ultra in the Series 7 family, the Series 7 Ultra embodies mobility and performance in an ultra-slim and light, full aluminum body. It has a Full HD display (1920x1080) featuring 350nit brightness, JBL optimized speakers and AMD graphics. The laptop?s display also features a 178-degree viewing angle.

Up to eight hours of battery life keeps users connected all day, while the latest Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and up to 256GB SSD of storage provide the computing power required by demanding users. The laptop's ten-finger touch capabilities and six second boot-up time maximize on-the-go productivity. The device will also be available with 4G LTE connectivity, three USB 3.0 ports, as well as a LAN port and a slim security slot to help ensure the device is securely tethered when necessary.

New Smart TV Software Development Kit Supports Linux and Mac O/S

Samsung will be also releasing the Smart TV SDK (Software Development Kit) 4.0 at the 2013 CES from January 8th to 11th, 2013. The Smart TV SDK will allow Smart TV software development on Linux and Mac, in addition to Windows O/S.

Samsung is the first in the TV industry to provide a local cloud development environment. This environment enables the development of content based on connection between web services by utilizing an open API (Application Programming Interface).

Moreover, Smart TV SDK 4.0 provides a local cloud development environment that allows developers who use the Mac O/S to team up with other developers who use Windows O/S. As a result, many developers can engage in a team effort.

By expanding and supporting HTML5 in the Smart TV SDK 4.0, a standard programming language, Samsung has laid the foundation for many software developers to easily take part in development of Smart TV applications.

And to promote the active development of Smart TV software through Samsung's Smart Interaction function, the company strengthened the voice and gesture recognition functions on its Smart TVs.

Samsung Evolution Kit

Samsung also announced its Evolution Kit. Introduced for the first time at CES 2012, the Evolution Kit enables Samsung 2012 Smart TV to evolve into Samsung?s new 2013 Smart TVs. By attaching the Evolution Kit device into the back of a Samsung Smart TV, users can enjoy the latest features that the 2013 Smart TVs have to offer.

With hardware enhancements, such as CPU, memory and GPU up to the level of the latest Smart TV, users can enjoy faster speeds for browsing the Internet and multitask by using apps while watching TV.

In addition, Samsung's Smart Interaction features such as voice control and motion control will be enhanced. Once the Evolution Kit is attached to the slot, 2012 Smart Hub is transformed to 2013 version.
