Message Text: Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg is reportdely in talks with Samsung Elkectronics to form a mobile partnership with the social network.

Sources told the Korea Herald that Sandberg on Thursday held a meeting with Samsung Electronics' vice president Shim Soo-ok to discuss ways to strike a "mobile partnership." Sandberg is in South Korea officially to promote her book "Lean In."

The meeting was perceived as a follow-up to previous talks Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg held just over two weeks ago.

The newspaper reported that Zuckerberg broached building a "Facebook-friendly" phone but Samsung rejected the idea.

Facebook has already released the "First" phone, with HTC and AT&T. The phone came preloaded with Facebook Home but didn't catch on with consumers.

A source told the Korea Herald: "Facebook has every intention of becoming the second Google, and with that intent in mind, Zuckerberg is said to have asked Samsung to step up cooperation by launching a phone with a Facebook interface." However, the proposed deal could be not related to a phone, but to any other project.
