Message Text: Microsoft is trying to force Windows XP users to upgrade to either Windows 7 or Windwows 8.1 as it plans to stop releasing new virus definitions for Security Essentials for XP users.

This means that if you continue running Windows XP on your computer, Security Essentials won?t get any new updates after April 8, 2014.

Microsoft has been aggressively trying to convince Wndows XP users to upgrade. XP is currently powering more than 30 percent of the computers worldwide - a significant percentage that could possibly push Microsoft reconsider its current stance, in case users continue to stick to the 11-year-old platform.

Microsoft has also started a campaign informing Windows XP users that their systems are the more vulnerable to cyber attacks than modern software.
