Message Text: Apple has reportedly acquired PrimeSense, an Israeli maker of chips that give devices a 3D view of the world, for $345 million.

The Sunday report by Calcalist financial newspaper does not provide any additional information.

Israeli and U.S. venture capital funds including Canaan Partners Global, Gemini Israel and Genesis Partners have invested $85 in PrimeSense.

PrimeSense's technology gives digital devices the ability to observe a scene in three dimensions. It has been implemented into Microsoft's Xbox Kinect.

Apple has also bought Israeli flash storage chip maker Anobit in January 2012.
