Message Text: Samsung Electronics will reportedly release a new Chromebook next year.

Business Korea on Monday said that the South Korean tech giant would unveil the new device at CES, but Samsung confirmed that no laptops will be unveiled at the show next week.

The new Chromebook ia expected to pack Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor, an application processor based on ARM's "big.LITTLE" technology with four low-power cores and four high-performance cores. Graphics will be powered by the Mali-T628 GPU core.

The device's display is said to output at 2560 x 1600 and will have storage options of 16GB or 32GB, as well as USB 3.0 support, a seven-hour battery, and a weight of just over 1kg.

Its retail price should range between $250 and $300.

Chromebooks run on Google?s Chrome OS. Data is not stored locally but on Google?s cloud server, and thus neither large-capacity storage devices nor high-performance hardware components are required.
