Google today officially
announced
a Google Play edition Moto G based on that same hardware as the international version of the Moto G.
Pricing for the Moto G is $179 for the 8GB version and $199 for the 16GB version.
The Moto G will run pure Android 4.4 KitKat and receive the latest software updates as they roll in. The device sports a 4.5-inch HD display with a 1,280x720-pixel resolution and 329ppi. Power is provided by a quad-core, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 graphics, plus a 2,070mAh battery, and 1GB of RAM. Its camera chops include a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.3-megapixel secondary shooter in the front.
The handset will work on AT&T in the US and T-Mobile in markets that have WCDMA running on 1900 MHz.
The Moto G doesn't run the Google Experience launcher.Functions listed by Google include FM Radio; Motorola Assist; Motorola Boot Services; Motorola Camera; Moto Care/Help; Motorola Connect and Motorola Device ID.
