Google has begun working with eyewear company Luxottica to create Ray-Ban and Oakley versions of its Glass wearable device.
Luxottica, the company behind several eyewear brands that include Ray-Ban and Oakley, will lend Glass its expertise in eyewear design and manufacturing. Additionally, Luxottica's retail locations should help Google later on, when the tech company begins to sell Glass.
Among the other brands made by Luxottica are Vogue-Eyewear, Persol, Oliver Peoples, Alain Mikli and Arnette.
"You're not going to see Glass on your favorite Oakleys or Ray-Bans tomorrow, but today marks the start of a new chapter in Glass's design," Google said in a post. "Excited? Because we definitely are."
Earlier this year, Google announced it had begun working with vision-insurance company VSP.
