ADATA Technology is launching the Premier Pro series SP920 solid state drive (SSD), which comes in a 2.5" form factor and the latest generation Marvell controller.
The SP920 uses Micron's 128Gbit 20nm MLC NAND and actually, it is a rebranded Crucial M550, which we have recently tested.
The drive is available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB versions. According to ADATA, the 4 KB random read / write speeds are as high as 98,000/88,000 IOPS, with sequential read and write speeds of up to 560 MB/s and 500 MB/s, respectively.
For those looking to upgrade from a mechanical hard disk, the SP920 comes with a 2.5mm holder, which allows the drive to be used in both 7mm & 9.5mm notebook bays, as well as a 3.5" bracket adaptor for upgrading desktop computers.
