Message Text: Lenovo was fast to declare that its tablet strategy for the U.S. market remains unchanged, refuting an earlier report to the contrary.

The Chinese company has stopped sales of its existing small-screen Windows tablets in the U.S., but plans a new model for release by the end of the year.

"We will continue to bring new Windows devices to market across different screen sizes, including a new 8-inch tablet and 10-inch tablet coming this holiday," the company said in a statement.

Lenovo meanwhile has stopped U.S. sales of its existing small-screen Windows tablets, including the ThinkPad 8 and Miix 2 tablets with 8-inch screens.

The company now says, however, that it intends to remain in the small-screen Windows tablet business in the U.S. with the launch of the new 8-inch model during the holiday season.
