Message Text: AMD will soon release a software solution to make the Radeon RX 480 draw less current from the PCIe bus.

The AMD Radeon Software 16.7.1 driver will address power distribution and will be released in the next couple of days. The driver will provide additional features including an option to reduce total power consumption, and performance improvements of up to 3% in popular games titles.

Commenting on concerns around the Radeon RX 480 drawing excess current from the PCIe bus, AMD had originally said that the levels of reported power draws by the Radeon RX 480 do not pose a risk of damage to motherboards or other PC components based on expected usage.
