Next week Yamaha will announce officially the specs for the first 16x CDR-W drive of the market! The new model named CRW2100 and will support both SCSI (CRW2100S) and ATAPI (CRW2100E) interfaces.
Features:
CDR writing: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x
RW writing: 2x, 4x, 8x and 10x (HS RW)
40x reading
8MB buffer
40x DAE!! (max)
CD-Text
Overburn
"DAO RAW" writing
The most negative point is that Yamaha's CRW2100 is not equipement with anti-coaster protection technology (BURN-Proof or JustLink or similar one). We must wait to see if the 8mb of buffer will save us from coasters when writing at 16x or not ;)
