Freecom is launching in Europe of the mSSD MAXX - a fast, compact and stylish SSD for Mac and PC users.

The SSD is boasting an aluminium enclosure with a sleek brushed metal textured appearance.

Available in 512GB, the mSSD MAXX delivers data transfer speeds of up to 700MB/s. The storage device weighs just 72g and measures 91mm x 57mm and 10mm (L x W x H).

To enable Mac and PC owners to benefit from improved connectivity, the mSSD MAXX is available with two cables for convenient data transfer: a USB 3.1 Type-A to Type-C cable and a USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C cable.

The drive is FAT32 formatted which allows it to be used interchangeably between Windows and Mac computers without reformatting. For content with files sizes larger than 4GB, software is supplied on the drive to reformat to HFS+ for Macs and NTFS for PCs.

The drive comes pre-installed with Nero Backup software for full system backup and restore functionality which allows users to schedule automatic backups by date and time, compress files to save space, or encrypted backup with password protection.

The Freecom mSSD MAXX 512GB has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of around £269. It comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty.
