Samsung Electronics will likely drop the Gear brand for its 360-degree panoramic camera and a virtual-reality headset products, part of its efforts to raise awareness of its Galaxy brand.
The South Korean giant filed late last month U.S. patent applications for a 360-degree panoramic camera and a virtual-reality headset under the respective names Galaxy 360 and Galaxy VR.
The move is indicating that the tech giant may drop its previous Gear brand.
In August, Samsung also named its new smart watch 'Galaxy watch' and not Gear S4 as it was speculated, as the successor of the previous Gear S3 model. |
