Apple has agreed to buy fingerprint reader AuthenTec Inc. for approximately $356 million as Apple looks to strengthen its digital security capabilities.
Google said on Friday it had not kept its promise to delete all the personal data its Street View cars collected in Britain and other countries in 2010.
Apple has applied for a patent of a device that combines a high-resolution digital display with portable head gear.
Six months after losing the top position in the smartphone market to Apple, Samsung in the second quarter regained leadership as its sales rose 5 percent to 36 million units, up from 34 million in the first quarter.
Samsung Electronics reported on Friday a record operating profit of $5.9 billion for the June quarter, as Galaxy S handset sales helped stretch its lead over Apple.
Nvidia will bring wireless display to its Tegra chips, which will allow mobile devices based on the chips to beam images and audio directly to high-definition TVs.
