Hitachi Says Hybrid Storage Pools Are Superior Than HDD, SSD Configurations

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) claims that a hybrid combination of its Hitachi Accelerated Flash (HAF) modules and HDDs, tiered together in the same dynamic pool of storage in Hitachi VSP, provides higher performance, availability and reliability at a lower cost than comparable high-performance disk and/or SSD configurations.

Facebook on Friday unveiled that it its systems had been targeted in a 'sophisticated' attack last month, adding that there was no evidence that Facebook user data was compromised.
