New PC Cases Get the Cool and Silent Treatment

Corsair als unveiled two new mid-tower PC cases - the Carbide Series Air 540 and the Carbide Series 330R.

The Carbide Series Air 540 is designed with a wider form factor with two "side-by-side" chambers and a Direct Airflow Path layout. Corsair claims that this design helps the case deliver great cooling at low noise levels.

The main chamber of the Carbide Series Air 540 houses the motherboard and hot-swap 3.5" drives for quick swapping. The second chamber holds the power supply, SSDs, and 5.25" drives behind the motherboard tray. The separate compartments make building easier and provide cleaner cable routing and better cooling for system devices. In addition, layout in each chamber is optimized to limit obstructions and streamline airflow from the intake fans to the hottest PC components.

Features:

- Support for Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, Extended ATX motherboards and ATX power supplies
- Eight tool-free expansion slots that supports cards lengths up to 12.5" (320mm)
- Mount points for six 120mm or five 140mm fans (or 240/280mm radiator on top and 360/280/240mm radiator in front)
- Two 5.25", two hot-swap 3.5", and four 2.5" tool-free drive bays
- Removable front magnetic low-restriction dust filter
- Built-in cable routing cutouts with grommets
- Two USB 3.0 ports plus headphone/mic jacks on front panel
- Oversized flush-mount window
- 16.5" (407mm) deep x 17" (432mm) wide x 18" (457mm) tall

The Carbide Series 330R case has been designed for low noise home computing. The case is laid out with a Direct Airflow Path from the 140mm front intake fan. Noise dampening material on the top panel, side panels, and front door combined with rubber feet help keep the PC quiet, and the top panel can be removed for 240mm radiator installation if desired. Couple that with features like built-in USB 3.0 and SSD capabilities and the 330R is an attractive solution for the low noise enthusiast.

Features:

- Support for Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, Extended ATX motherboards and ATX power supplies
- Noise dampening material on the top panel, side panels, and front door
- Direct Airflow Path
- Up to Five fan mount locations (front 120/140mm x 2, top 120/140mm x 2, rear 120mm)
- USB 3.0 on front panel
- Four hard drive trays with dual HDD and SSD compatibility
- Tool free 5.25" and 3.5" drive installation
- Built-in cable routing cutouts with grommets
19.5" (495mm) deep x 8.3" (210mm) wide x 19" (482mm) tall

The list prices for Carbide Series Air 540 and Carbide Series 330R are $139.99 and $89.99 respectively. The cases are available now and are backed with a two year warranty.

PC Gaming Peripherals

The latest additions to theCorsair's Vengeance and Raptor Gaming lines include four new gaming keyboards and two gaming mice.

In March, Corsair released the Vengeance K70 fully mechanical gaming keyboard with Cherry MX Red key switches designed for gamers. The company has expanded the K70 line to include two new versions equipped with Cherry MX Blue and Cherry MX Brown key switches. Both switch types require slightly more finger pressure to trigger, with the Cherry MX Brown switches providing a less audible click.

Both of the new Vengeance K70 keyboards versions are housed in a brushed, anodized aluminum chassis and have individually programmable blue backlighting for each key. Like all Vengeance K70 keyboards, the new models feature dedicated media keys as well as a 100% anti-ghosted matrix, full key rollover and a 1000Hz reporting rate for fast gaming.

The Vengeance K70 will be shipped in July for $129.99.

Designed for gamers on the go or with limited desk space, the Vengeance K65 is the most compact fully mechanical gaming keyboard in Corsair?s arsenal. By omitting the numpad and maintaining full-size key spacing, Corsair minimized the Vengeance K65?s footprint. The keyboard features Cherry MX Red key switches. It also has a 100% anti-ghosted matrix, full key rollover, a 1000Hz reporting rate and comes with a detachable cable for easy packing.

The Vengeance K65 will be shipped in July for $89.99.

The Corsair Raptor K50 gaming keyboard combines a comfortable membrane key feel, onboard macro storage, 100% anti-ghosting with full-key rollover on USB, and 16.8 million color customizable backlighting. The keyboard features 18 programmable gaming keys and three banks for up to 54 macros that can be stored in the keyboard?s built-in memory. The Raptor K50 also has six dedicated multimedia keys for music and video playback and a Windows lock key.

The Raptor K50 will be shipped in July for $99.99.

The Corsair Raptor M40 gaming mouse features a gaming-tuned Avago ADNS-3090 4000 DPI optical sensor, fast response time, large PTFE glide pads, high-mass scroll wheel all housed in right-handed design with a textured, soft-touch surface. The Raptor M40 also has an adjustable weight system and seven programmable buttons with macros and for critical gaming functions. In addition, instant DPI switching allows gamers to swiftly toggle between high sensor resolution for fast motion, and low resolution for accurate aiming.

The Raptor M40 will be shipped in July for $59.99.

Corsair Raptor M30 gaming mouse is designed for performance, and features a game-tuned Avago ADNS-3090 4000 DPI optical gaming sensor, extra-large PTFE glide pads, and fast response time. The mouse?s six buttons enable one-click access to critical game functions, and on-the-fly DPI switching with a DPI LED indicator let gamers instantly switch to a lower sensor resolution for long-range weapon accuracy. The right-handed design also has a soft-touch finish, a rubber thumb grip and a low-friction braided cable.

Availability of the The Raptor M30 is set for July, priced at $49.99.
