Google Buys Bump

Google is buying the mobile startup Bump Technologies, makers of an app that enables users to transfer photos, videos and files just by bumping their phones together.

Google did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

"The next chapter begins today. Bump's been acquired by Google," David Lieb, CEO and co-founder of Bump, posted on Twitter.

With the Bump acquisition, Google also is getting Flock, a photo-sharing app that combines photos taken by users, their friends and family and puts them into a shared album.

Lieb said that both Bump and Flock will continue to work as they have - at least for now.

The app also works with iPhone, allowing an Android device to ineract with Apple's device. However, this functionality is expected no longer to be available to iPhone users.
