Pantech Unveils Vega Secret Note Smartphone

Pantech unveiled its latest smartphone on Thursday. The 5.9-inch Vega Secret Note targets the premium handset market and comes to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note.

The phone has a 5.9-inch screen and comes with a stylus pen. The device has a fingerprint sensor used to grant user access to call history, saved phone numbers as well as personal files (photos, videos e.t.c).

The LTE-A smartphone also features 3GB RAM, a USB port, a full HD IPS Pro display, a 3,200 mAh battery, Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and supports playback of lossless FLAC audio files.

The Vega Secret Note will be available in S. Korea for about W900,000 ($841.5).

Pantech's vice president Lee Joon-woo said, "Large-screen smartphones account for 30 to 40 percent of the domestic smartphone market, so we're targeting this particular market segment with an array of functions that differentiates us from others."

Pantech's sales goal is 500,000 units.
