Philips At CES 2014

Philips at CES 2014 showcased many consumer electronics products, including a short-throw projector, the Fidelio E5 Wireless Surround Cinema Speakers and the Blu-Ray TV Surround Base.

The company's new Screeneo short-throw projector is a compact device that can project 720p images that can be stretched up to 100 inches. The device projects images just 10 to 45 cm away from the wall.

It also supports 3D, runs on Android (though is iOS compatible via apps, too) and connects to wi-fi. The projector uses LED technology, and ships in April for $1799.99.

Screeneo also offers built-in Dolby Digital 2.1 sound thanks to integrated speakers and has 4GB of on-board storage which can be expanded via SD card.

Sony also at CES took the wraps off its short throw projector. This one is able to shine a 147-inch ultra-high definition image onto the wall but it will cost much more than the Philips Screeneo, at $30,000 ~ $40,000.

Also at CES Philips Philips had on display the Fidelio E5 wireless Surround cinema speakers.

These speakers feature a unique design that allows the top to detach, creating four independent wireless speakers for full surround. The E5 also comes with a wireless subwoofer.

The E5 speakers are measuring just under 16" tall, featuring detachable tops that allow the system to go from stereo to Surround on Demand. The products feature double BASS, two HDMI inputs and suport aptX and AAC Bluetooth streaming. The E5 is also equipped with NFC for one-tap pairing of devices.

The E5 (CSS7235Y) will be available in Spring 2014 with a recommended retail price of $799.

The new Philips TV Surround Base is offering an integrated Blu-ray 3D player and the Philips Smart TV Internet TV service giving consumers access to streaming services like VUDU, NetFlix, Pandora, YouTube and more.

The TV Surround Base's wooden design is ideal for conducting sound. This space-saving speaker can support a flat screen television up to 55-inches in size. And of course, the system is featuring an integrated subwoofer and virtual surround sound.
