Dell Unveils Latitude 13 Education Series Laptop

Today, Dell has announced the new classroom-ready Latitude 13 Education Series laptop that is built to meet the needs of student computing programs.

This laptop is designed to be tough to withstand heavy use by students in classrooms. It is built with a rubberized LCD and base trim and has a fully sealed keyboard and touchpad.

It comes with a 13.3-inch display and on models with touch it has Corning Gorilla Glass NBT for scratch resistance.

The Latitude 13 Education Series laptop opens at 180 degrees to reduce stress in the hinge and can also "tattle" on students with a network activity light that illuminates when students connect to the WLAN. And finally, it is also built to be secure as well with encryption and authentication and integration with Microsoft System Center.

The Latitude 13 Education Series starts at $539 (U.S.) with non-touch models available in red, blue and black colors and touch models available in black.

Dell also announced the Dell Interactive Projector S520, which features multi-touch capabilities, Intel Wireless Display (Intel WiDi) + Miracast technology and wireless functions for classrooms and conference rooms. The S520 combines features of interactive whiteboards and interactive LCD displays into one solution.

The Dell Interactive Projector starts at $4,129 USD.
