EA Unveils Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Mass Effect Andromeda, And More at E3 2016

EA gave a press conference and marked the the start of EA Play. From Star Wars hype to Battlefield 1 multiplayer and Titanfall 2 single player, the company showed off a number of big titles coming in year(s).

Ther company officially released full details on the improvements to Franchise in Madden NFL 17 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This year, Franchise introduces Play the Moments, the fastest way to play Madden NFL. Play the Moments allows fans to experience the important milestones in each game while simulating the rest of the matchup. Players will be invited to jump in at critical moments such as red zone drives, vital third downs, game-winning drives and more, offering the chance to prove your mettle in clutch situations. The shortened games allow Franchise players to take their team all the way from opening day to the Super Bowl in just a weekend. Of course, those who want to experience the game from kickoff to final whistle can turn off Play the Moments, or opt to jump in and out of moments as they wish throughout the game.

Off the field, players will be able to utilize new Franchise gameplanning to tailor their strategy to amplify their team’s strengths and attack their opponent’s weaknesses, complete with in-game boosts. New Big Decisions also surface important personnel decisions such as bringing players back from injury, signing free agents, negotiating new contracts and more. In addition to all this, Madden NFL 17 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 also features practice squads, full player editing and a dynamic score ticker.

EA Access members can try Madden NFL 17 before it’s released for a limited time as part of a Play First Trial, only on Xbox One.

Titanfall 2

Respawn Entertainment announced that Titanfall 2 will drop worldwide on Friday, October 28, 2016 for Xbox One, Origin for PC, and for the first time, PlayStation 4.

In single player campaign, which will be playable offline, will let fans step out onto The Frontier as a Militia rifleman with aspirations of becoming an elite Pilot. Players must team up with a veteran Titan to uphold a mission they were never meant to carry out. In multiplayer, Respawn delivers expanded depth and variety that includes six new Titans, deeper Pilot abilities, more customization options, and a progression system.

New Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer

Electronic Arts unveiled a new trailer for BioWare's upcoming Mass Effect title. Based on the footage, Mass Effect: Andromeda sounds like an origin story of sorts. You're on a mission leaving the Milky Way to help humanity find a new home.

BioWare promises "more freedom" than any past BioWare games. Andromeda will be using the Frostbite engine, which also powered Star Wars: Battlefront, Battlefield 1, FIFA 17, and the new Mirror's Edge, among other titles.

The game is scheduled to launch ealy next year.

EA SPORTS FIFA 17 The Journey

Electronic Arts introduced EA SPORTS FIFA 17 The Journey , an new game mode powered by Frostbite. Fans will live their story on and off the pitch as Premier League prospect, Alex Hunter who is looking to make his mark. Fans will visit new football worlds, meet new characters full of depth, and navigate emotional highs and lows of their story arc through decisions off the pitch, their performance on it, and character interactions throughout the 2016/17 season while playing for any of the 20 Premier League clubs. Alex Hunter starts building his personal legacy in FIFA 17 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC when it launches on September 27 in North America and September 29.

Changes in gameplay transforms the way players think and move, physically interact with opponents, and execute in attack, putting fans in control of every moment on the pitch.

Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 includes destruction and dynamic weather. Players can carve a path through walls and buildings, take down enemies in creative ways, and leave their mark on the terrain around them through intuitive destruction.

Operations introduces a new way to play multiplayer. In Battlefield 1 users will play a series of interconnected battles across multiple fronts. Gamers will be able to play a sequence of battles where theirr actions have consequences beyond a single match.

The Behemoths - the largest fully player-controlled vehicles ever seen in Battlefield - allows players to take control of the Armored Train, Air Ship, or the Battleship to dominate the battlefield across land, air, and sea.

The Battlefield 1 open beta will be live later this summer.

Star Wars

EA gave players a special look at what’s going on with some of the Star Wars projects.

The team at DICE are continuing to add more of the content players want to Star Wars Battlefront, with free content and three more digital expansion packs coming by the end of the year - Star Wars Battlefront Bespin, Star Wars Battlefront Death Star and a final pack in December. And for VR fans, DICE is also working with Criterion on an exclusive Star Wars Battlefront VR mission for PlayStation VR this year.

This December, BioWare will celebrate the 5th anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic and the game keeps getting better.

A new installment of Star Wars Battlefront is currently in development at DICE, in collaboration with Motive Studios in Montreal. This one is comiong in 2017.

In 2018, a new Star Wars story will debut in a new action adventure game from Visceral Games.

EA's partners at Respawn Entertainment are making their own 3rd person action adventure game, one that features a different style of gameplay and takes place in a different timeline we have yet to explore with EA Star Wars titles.

EA originals

EA announced EA Originals, and provide a first look at a new game.

EA Originals is about supporting small developers and helping them make the most of their games. EA will seek a few projects each year for EA Originals, and partner with them throughout the process of development to marketing to publishing.

EA will also offer profits from new games into the hands of the studios making them.

The first game coming from EA Originals is called Fe, and it's developed by a small studio in Gothenburg called Zoink.

"Fe is a personal narrative about our relationship with nature, the land, and its beings. It’s a wordless celebration of our longing to be one with world around us," EA said.
