Sony Makes Changes to PlayStation VR Headset

Sony is updating the design of the PlayStation VR headset and is also removing the imposition of having to disconnect the unit in order to view HDR content on the PS4 console.

Looking at the new PlayStation VR headset (model CUH - ZVR2), we that its headphone jack has been moved from the wire hanging from the headset to the back of the unit. There's also a thinner connection cable to the PS4. It's upgraded Processor Unit also makes HDR passthrough possible.

The updated PlayStation VR headset will be released in Japan on October 14th in a bundle with the PlayStation Camera that will cost ¥44,980 ($400). Sony has not yet set a release date for the U.S. market.
