Honor 7X is Official Coming with a FullView Display

Huawei's latest phone is the new Honor 7X, a device featuring a 5.93-inch FullView display aimed at those of you who don't want to splash the cash on elite handsets.

There's no firm word on pricing just yet, since the smartphone will be revealed at an Honor event on December 5th, but expect the 7X to come in below $300.

The device features a massive 5.93-inch FullView display with a 2,160 x 1,080 resolution and 407 ppi. With a fingerprint scanner on the back (0,25 sec to unlock) , rather than the front, the display has been able to take up all available room in the chassis.

It's wrapped in a full metal shell with very slim bezels around the screen, loaded with a quad-core, Huawei-made 16nm Kirin 659 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM. In terms of cameras, you get a rear 16-megapixel camera that usupports a manual camera mode, where you can adjust the white balance to get a nicer tone. A second lens provides depth information, letting you capture photos with shallow depth of field, and there's a 'Portrait Mode' just like you'll find on the much more expensive iPhone 8 Plus and X. It is isolating your subject by giving the background an attractive blur. The 8-megapixel front-facing camera has quite a wide angle of view and features an Effects function, helping your selfies stand out on social media. A new Gesture Control function means you simply have to turn your palm to the camera to trigger a countdown to a selfie.

What you won't find on the 7X is any kind of water resistance. It charges using the micro USB, rather than USB-C.

The device launches with the older Android Nougat software, rather than Oreo.

The 3,340mAh battery could get a day of power with careful use.
