ASUS has an interesting board here with the Z8PE-D12X. The motherboard can take all current Intel Xeon CPUs including the recently released 56xx series that have 6 cores with HyperThreading. The inclusion of features including Flex-E, PIKE and the ability to have two workstation video cards installed is excellent. The inclusion of the ASMB3 IKVM Upgrade Kit is a definite plus on this side. Workstation boards need to balance energy usage and the Z8PE-D12X does just that with the EPU. The inclusion of onboard graphics allows the user to save money on video cards. Overall this is a very well designed motherboard for the server environment and it can hold its own in this genre. For those wanting quality and a name they can trust the new Asus Z8PE-D12X is a very solid choice.

Intel may have launched its X58 chipset nearly a year-and-a-half ago, but board vendors continue to come out with new product as technologies improve. This past winter, ASUS released the P6X58D Premium, a high-end offering that boasts support for both SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0, and one that just begs to be pushed hard with overclocking.

"ASUS is known for many things; they make great enthusiast class motherboards and add-in GPUs. But how many people know they also make workstation and server class products? - We have known about this for a while and have finally gotten one in (complete with a socket 1156 Xeon for the CPU) for testing in our lab. The P7P55 WS SuperComputer is a healthy system that also happens to have the ability to run a ton of GPUs at full x16 speeds thanks to an NF200 chip on the board. It is this multi-GPU capability that gives it the SuperComputer name. After all, if you are pushing four NVIDIA GPUs running CUDA or OpenCL, you have a massive amount of compute power at your fingertips."

"Today HardwareHeaven are going to look at the Asus Cine5 a compact unit which ASUS say is the smallest 5 channel speaker in the world. Asus claim that it produces true cinematic surround sound which is quite a formidable claim for such a small speaker. "

This board comes with tons of accessories ranging from right-angled SATA cables, stickers, bridges, header adapters and the ROG cable. Very exciting stuff for a very exciting board.

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 470 was announced a few weeks back - now we got the first production sample of the card from ASUS. Compared to the GTX 480 we saw much more reasonable power consumption numbers as well as fan noise and heat.

Blu-ray Combo drives are popular among PC enthusiasts today as they can both play back the latest Blu-ray Disks and burn a DVD for Data Storage or other uses. The BC-08B1ST has 8x speed which is one of the fastest currently available drive on the market today. Blu-ray media when needing to transfer files requires a fast speed and there are hardly 8x Blu-ray media to take advantage of this drive yet. This drive has a 2MB cache and works right out of the box with the included ASUS BD Suite which consists of CyberLink?s BD Suite of software version 7.3.

"The ASUS EAH5770 CuCore/2DI/1GD5/A videocard might just hit that wonderful sweet spot where price and performance balance perfectly. The card comes packing 1GB of GDDR5 RAM and with a GPU ticking away at 850MHz. In terms of performance, the Radeon HD 5770 GPU slots in just below ATI's flagship Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 chips, but above the mainstream Radeon HD 5670. The Radeon HD 5770 graphics chip is based on the ATI RV840 'Juniper' GPU, a 1.04-billion transistor die manufactured on a the 40nm process."

"Today I'm going to take the Asus TS Mini home server for a test run and see how it performs when integrated into a typical home network. Since this is a product designed for the home market, it should be easy to setup and maintain, operate quietly, and be small enough to not be in the way of other electronic equipment."

"I?ve taken a look at a couple USB 3.0 PCIE card here at TestFreaks. I?ve got another one today, but this one is quite a bit different. It?s the ASUS U3S6 PCIE card that actually uses a standard PCIE slot as opposed to the small X1 style. This card is also a combo card that has both USB 3.0 ports on it and SATA3 or 6Gbps SATA connections on it. According to ASUS, utilizing the PCIE X4 slot will maximize your bandwidth or speeds you?ll achieve with USB 3.0. let?s find out if that?s true or not?"
