Slow burning better than high speed for quality?

Does the laser have more time to burn deeper into the cd at lower speeds than at higher speeds?

Depends from the drive and the media. There aren't any tests that indicate the above claim ,yet, but all manufacturers tries for the best quality with the maximum writing speed
