Try reconfiguring your Drives. If you have both on the Secondary bus, put the Source on the Primary as Slave, and the Recorder on the Secondary as Master.
Or try with both on the Same IDE bus if you have them on different ones currently. Both on the Secondary with the recorder as master.
Also, try with DMA disabled and enabled. Also try setting the IDE BUS to PIO MODE 3
