Ricoh 7040S/60S Error

After upgrading to Windows ME the recorder started to give an error message "Medium Speed Error". I tryed to unstall Windows Me and get back again to Win98SE but the recorder keeps giving the same error.

Unfortuneately, it can still be a defective unit.
If you have this error with more than one brand of media, the recorder is suspect.
Would be best if you can test on another system, if it fails there too, I would return it.
