Recording on the fly at 16x problem

I'm using a TDK 16x CDR drive and when copying on the fly I get god-awful speed sometimes taking 20 minutes to copy a CD . I've tried all these as the source drive and they all perform badly - Pioneer 115 16xdvd/40xCD , Acer 50x CD, BUSlink 52x cd.

It depends on the CD. If you are doing 16x on the fly from Audio CD and the source cannot read DAE up to 24-30x then you will have a buffer underrun.
