Error Correction Code
A code for detecting and correcting errors. An additional error recovery layer used by data compact disc with track in Mode 1 and Mode 2 Form 1. Error correction codes consisting of 276 bytes are placed ad the end of every block to "protect" the 2,048 bytes of user data.
