The Arctic Breeze is a fan on the end of flexible metal neck which is attached to a weighed base. It is powered by a USB cable, and has two speed settings and an off button. Not knowing what the Breeze is supposed to be used for, our first excitement led us to the hypothesis that the Breeze was a miniature wind turbine for generating electricity off the exhaust fans from your PC...

In the past we looked at several small HTPC inspired coolers and walked away from all of them dissatisfied with the performance they achieved. Some of the coolers were outright dangerous for the applications claimed by the manufacturer and we needed to make it clear that such a small cooler was not really intended for flagship, "Extreme" processors. Arctic Cooling has stepped up to the plate to deliver us a silent performer that is made exclusively for the Intel LGA platform, and can apparently cool a 90 watt processor. The new Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 LP is designed for slim enclosures where limited height is a concern; many slim HTPC systems and home built 2U servers including NAS servers coming to mind.

Arctic Cooling is probably most well known for CPU and VGA coolers but a few years ago they started branching out into cases. The concept behind AC's case range has always been silent but effective cooling and this philosophy also extends to the PSU?s that are bundled with each chassis. Today we are reviewing one of the newest additions to the Silentium range, the T3.

In the words of Sam Beckett: "Oh, boy." Really, it's hard to know where to begin with a case like the Silentium T2 ECO 80. On paper, Arctic Cooling's intentions are cleary for the good and aiming in all the right directions. The idea of using rubber around the fans to prevent vibration and using heatsinks instead of fans to cool the HDD is fine and we of course love anything that can help make computing a more environmentally friendly hobby.
