The race to produce the most feature-rich, fastest LGA775 chipset has lead to Intel releasing the X38. ASUS was only too happy to oblige with a retail example in the form of its fully-laden P5E3 Deluxe. HEXUS puts it through the mill and tells you whether it's worth buying or not.

ASUS has been gracious in providing us with two enthusiast minded solutions for both DDR2 and DDR3 utilizing the same P35 chipset, in the Blitz Formula and Blitz Extreme. Why would ASUS consider offering the two options? Well in a nut shell, it simply saves you some money since new memory standards are always costly at the start and some users would like to really maximize their DDR2 based system. ASUS is well aware of this and felt that there was no reason why both kinds of memory module owners couldn't have a little bit of cake and ice cream. The only question you would need to ask yourself is, which flavor ice cream you would like.

So far we have seen a lot of P35 boards come out, some good, some bad and some that fit the extreme users bill. ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI and ABIT have been the biggest players so far, but none have done what ASUS has managed to do here. Today we are reviewing the ASUS Blitz Formula P35 motherboard which gives a whole new setup for Crossfire users. How does it fair compared to our GIGABYTE P35-DQ6? Let's have a look.

It's all about DirectX 10 (DX10) isn't it? Well, how about a sub $200 DX10 graphics card? If that pleases you, then how about this: a DX10 graphics under $200 with a stand-alone hardware overclocking tool? The ASUS 256MB GeForce 8600GT OC GEAR PCI-E SLI graphics card is that sub $200 card with external hardware overclocking ability. The added overclocking hardware allows the end user to overclock the graphics externally. The external display which has mirror like finish displays the current status of the graphics card and also displays the frame rate of the current game being played in real-time.

Despite having a number of models available, ASUS is still not a name that's synonymous with notebooks. But one thing is certain, they don't push out poorly designed products. We are taking a look at a perfect example of what a quality notebook should be, with the G1S gaming series.

As well as excelling with motherboards and graphics cards, Asus now branch out into many other areas taking their entire product catalogue to over twenty sectors. One of these areas is PC cooling, more specifically CPU coolers. Today we have one such product on our test bench, the Triton 75. This cooling solution is designed for AMD and Intel CPU's and we will be testing it against Arctic Cooling's excellent Freezer 7 Pro.

So far we have looked at a few P35 boards both based on DDR2 and DDR3 memory technologies from the major players like GIGABYTE, ASUS, MSI, Universal abit and even from the more unfamiliar companies like Foxconn and ECS. All of these offer a pretty good design and feature set depending on what your intent is. Today we are looking at another ASUS P35 board for the more mainstream/budget sector. We looked at the P5K-E Deluxe board which had everything you?re going to want built onto the board including Wireless USB Ethernet. Today we take a look at the ASUS P5K, the mainstream version with a few missing features. How does it stack up? Let's have a look.

It's been quite a few months since we reviewed the Asus P5K-Deluxe; in which we wrote about in June of this year. Today, months after images of Asus' P35 chipset based boards were released on several enthusiast websites, we've finally got a chance to take a look at Asus' first generation DDR3 boards. Actually, we've had this board since mid-July -- unfortunately we did not have any DDR3 RAM at our disposal until good old FedEx dropped off some OCZ Platinum PC3-12800 Enhanced Bandwidth memory at our doorstop (Without our approval, by the way, but good thing no one took it!) a few days ago. Now that we got a chance, let's examine the P5K3-Deluxe and benchmark it against its DDR2 brother, the P5K-Deluxe. The answer we want to obtain today is, what kind of performance gain are you expecting from DDR3 over DDR2? While you may already know the results partially, it's always interesting to see what the future has in store for us, today.

ASUS hopes to bring HD content to the masses by offering a cheaper drive that only has read capabilities for Blu-ray media. It can still write to DVD media however but will it catch on with the public? Read on for our take.

Over the years of reviewing ASUS products we've seen a number of interesting motherboards but the one we have our hands on for review today is one of the most interesting we have ever seen. This motherboard is the ASUS Blitz Extreme and packed onto this ATX PCB is Intel's P35 Chipset with ICH9R Southbridge, dual-channel DDR3-1333 memory support, CrossFire support, "voltiminder" LEDs, load-line calibration, Stack Cool 2, SupremeFX II audio, LCD poster display, and the ASUS Fusion Block System. The Fusion Block System is an integrated thermal hybrid cooler designed to cool the motherboard's chipset and other key components, but can also be inserted into your computer's water cooling loop for even greater performance. The ASUS Blitz Extreme belongs to their Republic of Gamers line with other motherboards such as the Striker Extreme, Blitz Formula, Crosshair, and Commando. This may be the ultimate gaming and overclocking platform, but how well does this $300+ USD motherboard work with Linux? We will tell you today.

We'd like to say that this is ridiculously expensive but when the Striker Extreme arrived several months ago at £230 we thought the same of that, but Asus sold them as fast as it could make them. Obviously, quite a few of you must have considered this hefty sum reasonable value for money and will probably think the same of the P5E3 Deluxe WiFi-AP @n.

We paid a visit to Asus' head office in Taipei on Friday and we got some exclusive pictures of their upcoming Maximus Extreme X38 board and some information about it and some of their other X38 products. There will be two different Maximus board in the R.O.G. family, the Extreme which we're looking at here and the Formula. Asus has already done this kind of thing once before with its P35 R.O.G. boards, the Blitz Extreme and the Blitz Formula.

The Asus EN8600GTS in our possession is 100% reference, coming with a GPU clock speed of 675 MHz, 1.45 GHz Shader clock, and 2.0 GHz memory. The 256 MB of memory rides a bus that is only 128 bits wide, yet is still capable of 32 GB/s transfer rate. As you can see in the photo above, we have the "Stalker" sticker attached to the heat sink on the card. The rest of the card is...
