Having recently reviewed the creative Zen Stone Plus a few months back, which I highly recommended, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Creative's new flash-based ZEN. This highly featured digital media player allows the user to play MP3, WMA, Audible and WAVE file types, plus WMV support Movies and Photos on the move, bringing you a whole world of entertainment at the touch of a button. The model we have today is the 4GB version, but the ZEN is available in three other sizes to choose from, and that's not all the ZEN is hiding under its belt...

These days, those who don't own an MP3 player are somewhat becoming the minority. Boasting more accessories than an R&B artist, MP3 players are becoming quite a fashion statement. We require these portable jukeboxes to be stylish, light weight, and attrictive, whilst giving us the envy of all our friends. When most people think MP3 players, they think iSomethings... Thats a bit to obvious, lets try *Pods. Whilst the *Pod might have the majority of the market share, there are other players on the market, such as iRiver, Samsung or Creative. Heir in lies the question; are the compeditors offerings are as good if not better than the market leader?

This little flash device is a great rival to the latest iPod nano - it's just a shame about the poor software...

For the most part, you'll be gaming with your multi-GPU system with a similar quantity of CPU cores and a couple of gigs of RAM and your nice TFT screen. But with the sounds coming from the OEM speakers you stole from an old shop-bought machine, you'll be giving your eyes the lion-share of the entertainment while your ears are subjected to tinny, two channel sound. With nearly every motherboard, no matter how inexpensive, coming with upwards of 5.1 surround output, there is no excuse for using just the green jack. Step in Creative's Inspire T7900 kit, featuring a gamer friendly price-tag, 7 separate speakers and a large bass unit with upmixing. Let's see whether it's right for you.

Just like the Gigaworks T20s, the T40s are a superb set of speakers for the price. Excellent clarity and a wide sound makes listening to music a joy, bringing the subtleties of all kinds of music to life. Gaming and film performance was also impressive and if you want an inexpensive but high quality set of speakers for a living room, then these come highly recommended.

The Creative ZEN is the new line of MP3 players that shall replace the ZEN Vision W. This may disappoint some of the Creative fans and also seems like an oddball on Creatives part to dump a 60GB player in favor of a 16 GB one. Regardless of the management decision, this little wonder here is really a marvelous thing to look at and use.

Creative has come up trumps with its new, flash-based, mini media player. Pitched as a direct competitor to the iPod nano it beats it on most fronts with the one exception being that its physical controls aren't quite as nice to use. It comes in a greater range of capacities, has a larger screen and, importantly, isn't tied to iTunes or a proprietary cable for syncing and charging. It comes in at roughly the same price too, the 4GB version selling for just under £100.

Shortly after the rollout of a screenless Zen Stone Creative announced the release of the improved Zen Stone Plus equipped with a small monochrome OLED display. As we may recall, the previous model has definitely made a positive impression. Let's see how the next version of the product is going to perform.

Credit card footprint with impressive audio and visual quality means the Creative Zen is a worthwhile portable multimedia player to consider buying.

There are so many various products in the market of audio players that it's rather hard to surprise consumers. Manufacturers usually try to attract users with new features, which in their turn raise product costs. Creative decided differently - to stir up the market of portable audio equipment by launching a budget Zen Stone instead of an expensive device with advanced features.

Small but surprisingly loud, Creative's TravelSound speakers for the Zen Stone do everything you could ask of them at a reasonable price.

Overall the looks and styling of the Zen Stone Plus have been really impressive, not only is it compact and sporty to look at but most of all the lightweight ness and pebble like shape of the device makes it a winner in my books so far, so with all that said let's upload some tunes to hear how it sounds.

As an alternative to onboard notebook sound, the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook is a reasonable solution, but I really don't like having to source and buy the breakout box separately, which does push the price up out of the low budget range.
