The x850XT comes nicely packaged in a blue box to match the color of the HSF unit. The front of the box has a see through section revealing the card while the back lists the specifications and features. Inside the box, you find a component cable as well as S-Video/RCA in/out cables since the card is VIVO ready. On the software side, you get full versions of Flatout and Dungeon Siege while a demo of Dungeon Siege 2 is also included. For editing/multimedia, HIS provides you with 3D Album PicturePro, Power2GO, Power Director SE+ and trial versions of PowerDVD, Medi@show3 and PowerBackup.

I have to be honest, when I first starting testing this videocard, I wasn't exactly expecting anything significant other than maybe a little higher benchmarking. What I actually encountered was an excellent performing videocard loaded with extra hardware and software, yet still has a MSRP US$199 pricetag seen associated with even the bland reference model from ATI.

We think that the HIS x700 Ice-Q will definitely appeal more to people who want to show off their system. While it takes two slots, its definitely is a very good looking card. And we like products that are different and perform well at the time which the HIS x700 Pro IceQ does nicely.

This card from HIS is a very impressive package. The card is enhanced with a great cooling solution, software, performance, and features. Not only will this X700 Pro serve a gamer, but those seeking extended video features such as video capture will find a solid choice here that gives them both in an afforable package.

As far as performance of the HIS X600 XT goes, it performs slightly better than expected by significantly out-performing its AGP counter-part: the 9600XT. While one my have a hard time playing Doom 3 with any increase in eye-candy, this card seemed to have no trouble handling other big titles like Half-Life 2 and Far Cry v1.3.
