The front screen is a delight and I even got on with its touch controls, but the absence of flash memory support really hampers this mobile's music playback credentials.

The Motorola Mini Bluetooth Headset H9 has been the most anticipated Bluetooth headset to date, especially here in the United States. From the moment it was announced (originally called the Motorola H5 Miniblue), there has been a buzz around this Bluetooth headset like never before.

Rugged or semi-rugged handhelds aren't everybody's cup of tea, and have a finite set of markets. Looks are less important than ergonomics, though they shouldn't be thrown out of the window completely. In this case the looks are pretty uninspiring, but more significantly the mini joystick makes navigation less intuitive than it could be. Maybe Motorola will add a little something to the mix here (though hopefully not flat keyboards). On the plus side, battery life is outstanding, and that's going to be paramount to the kind of business user who spends most of his time out in the field.

What's new is the when you open this slider mobile, the phone curves a little. The back of the phone is in two sections and as you slid the screen upwards the keyboard angles forwards. This means that when you hold the Z8 to your ear it fits the shape of your face better than regular handsets do. As a result, the microphone is closer to your mouth and the earpiece closer to your ear, so that you can hear and be heard better. I certainly didn't have any trouble with poor quality during voice calls.

The slightly purplish silver of the front outer casing and more slate silver of the back casing are not unattractive, and certainly as far as business users are concerned this livery might appeal a little more than some of the other colour schemes Motorola uses - vibrant pinks and blues spring to mind for example.

The most notable feature of the Motorola S805 Bluetooth DJ headphones is the sound quality. Rich bass, clear high end, and excellent noise isolation makes every song come to life in amazing stereo sound. The Motorola S805 Bluetooth DJ Headphones have many of the same benefits and features of any wireless headset, including built-in microphone, volume controls, selection control wheels and music pause for phone calls.

Motorola's MOTOFONE F3 is about as basic as a handset can get, with voice calls, texts and alarms summing up its feature set. It has a price to match. For example, as I write, Phones4u is selling it on T-Mobile, Orange and Virgin Media pay-as-you-go. Choose the latter and the phone costs a total of £29.95 which includes £10 of airtime.

It runs Windows Mobile 6 and is Quad-band with HSDPA at up to 3.6Mbps. You won't find a UK operator offering more than 1.8Mbps at the moment, but there's nothing like a bit of future-proofing, is there? It has 96MB of RAM and 256MB of internal storage memory and a microSD card slot is on the upper left edge of the casing. A 2-megapixel camera with flash caters for shooting photos and video, the latter at 30 frames a second. Very annoyingly given that little list, there is Bluetooth but no Wi-Fi.

The MOTORIZR Z3 might have the look and feel of the RAZR or SLVR phones, but offers a cool design that slides open to reveal the keyboard.

But don't be fooled by the size of the Q; the full featured keyboard still is very easy to use and there is plenty of space between keys so typing is not a problem. The keyboard is also backlight with a blue LCD, which makes typing and navigating in the dark an easily accomplished task.

Judged by its own merits, the sturdy i800 offers an attractive package of functions and performance. But compared to Sprint's PowerVision/ReadyLink phones, such as the similarly spec'd Sanyo M1, the i880 is a piker. Unlike the M1 (which also offers a 2 MP camera, MP3 player and ReadyLink walkie-talkie capabilities), the i880 is not an EV-DO phone and lacks HTML web browsing and access to Sprint's PowerVision multimedia options. Yet, the i880 is $150 more than the Sanyo M1: $499.99 (M1) vs. $349.99 (i880) or you can get the i880 for $299.99 with contract and rebates (the M1 is $199.99 with contract and rebates). While more fun than its predecessors, the i880 is still more appropriate for the more well-heeled business user.

So my first five minutes with it were telling, and the short of it was that I was impressed. The MOTOKRZR K1 is not the first clamshell in the range but Motorola has done itself proud with this new design. The PEBL feels lovely in the hand but I found its clam opening system pesky, while the V3 felt just too big. The KRZR K1 is narrow - 42mm - and feels very comfortable in my fairly small hands. Its deep blue is also very appealing.
