The OCZ PC2-6400 Platinum Enhanced Latency XTC DDR2 Memory Kit is yet another OCZ memory kit to feature their new XTC heatspreader. This new heatspreader design not only has a honeycomb design, but also does away with heatspreader clips. But whether that really helps in improving its cooling efficiency is still up for debate. Unfortunately, this memory kit only has a capacity of 1GB. While that may be enough a year or two ago, it is really not enough if you are a serious gamer or computer user. With games like F.E.A.R. requiring loads of memory, 2GB is really the way to go these days. Even Photoshop users will appreciate the advantage of having two gigabytes of memory...

The performance of the OCZ EL Platinum XTC modules is very good for the frequencies that it was able to run at. Not only are the primary timings of 3-3-3-8 very impressive at these speeds but the secondary timings were quite tight providing some very exciting SuperPi times and synthetic bandwidth numbers. Benchmarkers and gamers alike will definitely want to check these modules out when shopping for high performance 2GB memory kits...

OCZ PC2-6400 GOLD has been around awhile and is a great choice for the gamer on a budget. Perhaps not as exciting as some of their recent memory, it's a practical choice for 915 to 975 chipset based systems, gives a decent overclock and looks great dressed in GOLD...

Today we can honestly put the words value and performance in the same sentence when talking about ram. Value is usually the keyword when someone was to add more ram to a system to do whatever it is they want to accomplish. Whether it is to get more frame rates out of their favorite game or faster rendering times in that resource hungry graphic application. So, we are proud to bring you the OCZ PC-4000 Gold GX XTC...

OCZ isn't a newcomer to the overclocking world. Nor were they the first to discover this world either. But since they moved into the enthusiast market, they have been pretty much at the top. OCZ was one of the first ram manufacturers to make the legendary Winbond BH-5 what it was. Then they introduced us to the Samsung TCCD chips. Which gave us tighter timing while climbing to an unbelievable higher frequency. This leads us right to the EL Platinum DDR 3200...

For the suicide-shot overclockers, this is the memory for you because nothing will be able to touch it at 250+ with timings of 2-2-2-5. The gamers out there with higher end CPUs that also have higher multipliers will fall in love with the tight timings at moderate overclocks as well. It is hard to say whether the XTC heatspreaders are any better than the standard ones but the theory behind them is solid and they sure look much better in my opinion. Keeping the temperature of the modules at 40C with no active cooling and high voltages is definitely no luck, these XTC heatspreaders really do their job well...
