We were the first to break the news from CeBIT of Cooler Master's forthcoming steel-based Cosmos chassis and now we have the first European review. But just how much of the 'concept' made it to production?

Overclocking of graphics card is often limited by inadequate cooling solution provided by manufacturer and there is no other way but to look for DIY solution. Cooler Master's newest graphics card cooler, CoolVivia Pro, has 3 heatpipes for providing optimal cooling and it is clearly aimed at enthusiasts. However, is it better than Zalman's VF900-CU?

Cooler Master took a gamble bringing such a large cooler to market. The sheer size of the GeminII will preclude its use on some motherboards, and I can see that it will be a very tight fit in some smaller cases. Performance wise, the GeminII posted up some good numbers on the testbed, but fell short of the lofty expectations that a cooler of this size and design would inspire. This is not to say that the cooling performance was lacking; it wasn't. I just think it would be reasonable to expect more from the GeminII.

Today we are going to take a look at a traditional Cooler Master part, a CPU cooler which goes by the name of GeminII, and a product from their extended catalogue the X Craft 360 enclosure. Those DH regulars amongst you will remember we have looked at the GeminII before - but we had over one hundred emails about this product asking if we could retest it on the highest end hardware. Our readers are very important to us, so today we are retesting the cooler on an Extreme Edition Quad Core Intel CPU.

Cooler Master is perhaps most well known for its cases and cooling units, as its name implies, but Cooler Master also has a line of powerful power supply units. The Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650W PSU is the Taiwan-based company's newest offering in its PSU line. ThinkComputers previously reviewed Cooler Master's eXtreme Power Duo 600W PSU and it performed well receiving a 9 out of 10 score. We will see if the Real Power Pro can perform just as good if not better.

CoolerMaster is a well-known company and has built a strong reputation for providing quality products for the PC Industry. Most anyone who has worked on or around PCs for any length of time will be familiar with the CoolerMaster brand. Since cooling is the main focus of CoolerMaster, its no surprise that the products they produce are made to make our PCs run with optimal cooling. Whether its air-cooled or water-cooled, they have a product to make it happen. That brings us nicely to the CoolerMaster CM Media 281 HTPC Chassis which we have on our test bed today.

CoolerMaster may be better known for its processor heatsinks and extravagant cases, but the company has been selling power supplies for a while now with good results. Coolermaster's latest power supply is called the Real Power Pro 750W, and on paper at least the specifications are very impressive. It is rated for 750W of sustained power, 900W peak (this is what most manufacturers usually quote) with a typical efficiency greater than 80%. To top things off, the Cooler Master Real Power 750W comes with two eight-pin PCI Express 2.0 spec power connectors! These are the new kind of power connectors for tomorrow's generation of high end videocards.

With the CM Media 280 and 281 you can build a HTPC with all the features of a tower case; mostly because it is a tower case. Sorta. The new CM Media can be configured in either desktop or tower style and while it's not what I consider a "full" tower, it does offer a great deal more options as to what kind of gear you can toss into it and how much. And thanks to Cooler Master's impeccable design sense, it will still look good on your HiFi Rack.

Arguably the most interesting comparison to be made was the performance difference between the Noctua NH-U12F, which was using only one NF-S12 fan at 600RPM, and the GeminII. The GeminII trailed the NH-U12F by almost six degrees, which doesn't bode well for the GeminII's cooling efficiency. Even though the Noctua NH-U12F has some installation headaches, we don't think that this pitfall outweighs its otherwise very good performance. I'm sure with more powerful fans, we'll see more incremental performance improvements with the GeminII, but those gains would come at the expense of noise - the same could be said about the Noctua NH-U12F, too. With the fans we've tested the heatsink with here, the Cooler Master GeminII is a reasonably good silent cooling solution, but it's not a great one.

Quality is good enough and retention mechanism are extremely precise as well. Moreover you'll be able to connect whatever you want thanks to the four USB2.0 plugs on the front panel. Despite of all, iTower 930 is a high quality enclosure and its limit concerns only its dimensions.

Cooler Master has created some of the most wanted cases for the PC enthusiast. Their usage of aluminum and creativity with styles has made them one to watch to see what they will produce next. The Stacker 830 was released and quickly on its heals was the NVIDIA 830 Edition. Cooler Master kicked it up a notch and delivered the 832. How good is it, let's find out.
