So the 26R87BD isn't perfect. Big deal. We're not sure we've seen a perfect TV yet at any price, never mind a sum as paltry as under £400. What really matters about the 26R87BD is that had its price been a couple of hundred quid dearer we'd still have recommended it as one of the finest 26in LCD TVs around. So basically it's a steal with a capital S.

Apart from an ill-thought out remote and the lack of 1080p upscaling, Samsung's latest DVD/HDD combi is undeniably impressive. Its generous feature list, which includes 1080i upscaling, a USB connection and multi-format DVD recording would be reason enough to take a punt, but it's also backed up by strong recording quality (despite the fact that you can't choose the recording mode for Freeview) plus pre-recorded DVDs look great. So if the 1080p-capable Sony RDR-HXD870 or Panasonic DMR-EX87 don't take your fancy then the DVD-SH855M makes an ideal alternative.

As a personal media player, the SGH-F500 is probably the ultimate luxury. It comes with a large 2.4" LCD screen with a resolution of 320 x 240. That makes it imminently suitable for mobile video entertainment without having to make the phone look like a brick. All the popular video formats are supported like WMV, MPEG-4 and DivX.

There's little denying the quality of the Samsung 245T. It's incredibly versatile with plenty of connectivity, adjustment and a simple and attractive design. Add in the 97 per cent colour gamut and 1:1 pixel mapping at 1080p and you have a recipe for greatness. However, the Motion Picture Acceleration mode is disappointing, while the slightly uneven backlight is a cause for concern. As such, at this time the price needs to come down a fair amount before we can recommend it wholeheartedly.

The DisplayLink technology that Samsung has embedded into the SyncMaster 940UX is truly superb, simple as that. Being able to hook up multiple screens digitally, over USB is an inspired idea, and a welcome feature for anyone who uses a notebook as their main computer.

Provided you put the effort in up front to get the 46F86BD's pictures looking their best, it will reward you with a truly scintillating LCD performance that gets closer than arguably any TV before to laying to rest those 'LCD is only good for PC monitors' ghosts once and for all.

One of the bigger buzzwords going around these days is HDTV. Everyone seems to want high-def this and high-def that. Just as we encountered with VHS and Betamax, we are once again amidst a format war of sorts. On one side of the arena is HD DVD, backed by companies like Microsoft. On the other side is Blu-ray, supported by guys like Samsung. Samsung already has a big family of flat panel HDTVs, so they want to provide you with some HD content as well. The Samsung BD-P1200 is actually the company's second generation Blu-ray player and while it looks awfully pretty from the outside (much like Samsung's LCDs), there were several issues with the performance that need to be improved.

Although we ended our review on a little run of negatives, it really doesn't make sense for us to get too churlish about the LE40M87BD. For the simple fact remains that it's a superbly well-featured TV that also happens to produce frequently excellent 40in LCD pictures, especially with HD sources - and if all that isn't worth considering spending just £800 on, we don't know what is.

The Samsung S85 may look a little dull, but it is a well-made camera with a useful range of features, very good performance and surprisingly excellent picture quality. It has a few odd quirks and is a bit fiddly to operate, but considering the sub-£100 price tag it represents astonishing value for money.

The Samsung CLX-2160N multifunction laser printer may be marketed as the world's smallest color laser MFP, but don't let that fool you. It's a heck of a lot bigger than most desktop printers. At the same time, it's a heck of a lot more powerful too.

One of the most versatile and super slim personal multimedia devices, Samsung's Ultra Video is the first phone to be DivX Certified. Combined with a built-in audio player, the Ultra Video boasts DVD-like quality picture and sound. The company has partnered with DivX to provide DivX Pro as a bundled PC software for Ultra Video users to convert various video files into the DivX format for quality viewing on the SGH-F500 phone.

Samsung's BD-P1200 is a step forward and a slight step back. Sure it now carries the new HDMI v1.3 standard, but it fails to take full advantage of what the new specification has to offer. In addition, although a lot of the bugs were worked out, some of the functionality was removed as well. The BD-P1000 had a handy memory card reader which would be great for people wanted to view their photos and video files seamlessly on their HDTV. The BD-P1200 has that functionality stripped away.

Did you know that Apple isn't your only option when it comes to choosing a new MP3 player? Pretty shocking, huh? What's more, many of the offerings from other companies actually boast more features than any iPod on the market, but is this enough to snag some market share from the Cupertino giant? Samsung thinks so and they're making a mild attempt at toppling the Steve Jobs-fueled juggernaut with the Samsung YP-K5 MP3 player.

After a few days scouring the web I couldn't for the life of me find a single solution that offered everything that iTunes did, or at least that did it all better. I was flabbergasted. I knew iTunes was good, but I didn't realise it was this far ahead of the game.

The SGH-G600 is a very good slider mobile that's pleasant to use, with some great touches. The 5-megapixel camera is very good, though not quite good enough for the more discerning to want to leave their point-and-shoot digicam at home.
