Not too long ago, Benchmark Reviews featured a Guide: How to shop for your first HDTV in which we revealed that digital HDTV's would soon be a forced standard in slightly more than a year. We followed this up by using our own shopping advice to purchase the Sharp AQUOS LC-52D62U 52" 1080P HDTV, one of the best and most affordable HDTV's presently produced. But because Blu-Ray Disc and HD-DVD are still at battle with no end in sight, there is only place left to go: high definition broadcast. The technology world is becoming increasingly mobile-oriented these days. The Internet is present in everyone's lives. However, it's not about choosing between life and Internet anymore, it's about the integration of the web and life, and leveraging its power. Thus notebooks are growing more powerful and more mobile than ever before. Even though the days of scalding-hot laptops are gone, laptops still need cooling in order to increase its lifespan. Passive coolers have only been marginally effective. Active coolers tend to be noisy or as bulky as a second laptop. Most people try them for a while and religiously lug around a clunky plastic stand with their other laptop gear. Eventually the coolers just are stuffed in a corner to collect dust. So what does one do? Is there an effective passive cooler that doesn't take up a second laptop's space? Thermaltake seems to think it has the answer with the iXoft Notebook Cooling Pad.

When it comes to system enclosures, there have been some major changes in the past decade or so. Gone forever are the days when you picked up a beige box and began your new build. With things like aesthetics and cooling to consider, a new builder can easily become lost when searching through the vast number of choices. Today we will look at a pair of their more modest selections, namely the SopranoRS 101 and the WingRS 100. Both are mid-tower based enclosures that try to find a happy medium between style and value. So relax for a bit as we dig deeper into both of these cases and see if they are worthy of consideration for your next rig.

It's compatible with some of the latest VGA products on the market from both AMD/ATI and NVIDIA. What is so cool about it? It has two 80mm fans. It's made of copper. It has nice blue LEDS. It provides support for many current graphic cards, and of course, it's shiny!! So today, I will be testing Thermaltake's latest addition to the Orb family - the DuOrb VGA Cooler.

With this case it is easy to see why ThermalTake has so many awards. From the tool-less design to the space saving hard drive cages to the abundant cooling options. The build itself was easy and straightforward, once fully assembled the case was solid, often times you can see the weakness in poor craftsmanship in the case once the system is fully assembled. Thin metal or just straight out poor design shows through in the actual structural stability of a case. Poorly made cases are often wobbly and unstable. cooling performance was good The air moved by the large 120mm front and rear cooling fans provided enough cooling to keep the system cool, the addition of a liquid cooler was no problem for this case as the large amount of both active and passive air flow allowed the case to easily dissipate the heat generated by all of the components.

With ambient temperature somewhere around 26c on both days that we took results from, you can clearly see the Thermaltake clearly exceeds the stock cooler, at first I was worried when I saw the idle temps were almost identical, but under load well a whole 19c difference on the 8800GTX and in my eyes that makes this pretty special.

Water cooling kits are becoming more popular on the mainstream market due to lower price and new, easier ways of setup. It is also being used more and more for components other than CPU, like graphics cards or even memory. This time we're looking at the Thermaltake's Bigwater 760i all-in-one water cooling solution that can be installed into two 5.25" bays.

The bottom of the PSU has a 140mm fan on it, this is big. So the fan can push more air while spinning slower (compared to smaller fans). This means that it is very quiet. And with the included silicon dampener, noise will be at a minimum.

Thermaltake's new BigWater 760i watercooling kit is an affordable and compact solution to users who are are afraid of the cost or the complexity of a full kit. It is easy to install, so even less experienced people can get their feet wet with watercooling.

Thermaltake's Orb series has been very popular. We have checked out both the Ruby Orb, and Golden Orb. Each of them performed well and received good scores. The MaxOrb has a little different design, but still has the "Orb" motif. The MaxOrb features a 6 heatpipe design, 120mm fan, and a copper base. Although the base is made of copper the rest of the heatsink is aluminum. Hopefully its design will come in to play to help cooling because as we all know copper cools much better than aluminum.
