ASRock X399 Phantom Gaming 6 Motherboard for AMD Ryzen Threadripper X Released

PC components Nov 26,2018 0

Motherboard manufacturer ASRock has launched the X399 Phantom Gaming 6, its latest addition to the Phantom Gaming series for AMD Ryzen Threadrippper (Socket TR4) processors (180W).

Highlights of the new motherboard include the intelligent Phantom Gaming 2.5Gbps Ethernet connection, which automatically accelerates critical gaming network traffic ahead of other data, ensuring stutter-free game performance.

The X399 Phantom Gaming 6 also provides three Ultra M.2 connectors and a full-length 22110 (110mm) slot with full-coverage heatsink. It supports DDR4 3400+(OC) with eight DDR4 slots for a total capacity up to 128 GB, 3 PCIe 3.0 x16, NVIDIA 3-Way SLI and AMD 3-Way CrossFireX.

Polychrome SYNC full-color RGB LED lighting provides both 3-pin addressable RGB header and traditional 4-pin RGB LED headers that allow users to connect RGB strips directly to the motherboard and sync their lighting system using the app provided.

ASRock is advertising this model to feature an 8-phase Digi power delivery with Dr MOS power stages, but the board is only capable of supporting Threadripper first and second generation processors with a maximum TDP of 180 W.

The available USB ports include two USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Type-A and -C) ports. The motherboard is also equipped with 7.1 CH HD Audio (Realtek ALC1220 Audio Codec) and supports Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 5 sound.
