ASUS today announced the October availability of ASUS ProArt PA169CDV Pen Display, a portable 15.6-inch 4K UHD display featuring a 10-bit IPS panel. It includes the ProArt Pen featuring Wacom EMR technology for great writing and drawing experiences. PA169CDV is the world’s first portable monitor that’s both PANTONE® Validated and Calman Verified to provide creators with the most accurate onscreen colors. Its innovative design includes upper and lower kickstands that enable different tilt angles for daily productivity and creative workflows.

ProArt PA169CDV is designed to empower creators and streamline creative workflows. The 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) panel offers 4X the pixel density and up to 3X more onscreen space that similarly sized FHD displays. Brightness levels of up to 500 nits and VESA DisplayHDR™ 400 certification delivers brighter, lifelike images with unmatched levels of detail.

Natural drawing and writing experiences
The ASUS ProArt Pen empowers endless creativity and features built-in Wacom EMR technology to accurately detect every hand movement, even when the pen is tilted up to 40°. ProArt Pen has 4096-pressure sensitivity, so everything feels intuitive and precise even when drawing fast or slow, creating thin or thick lines, or finely shading areas. It includes two replacement pen nibs.

PA169CDV has a fully laminated panel to minimize parallax errors, offering pixel-precise accuracy to replicate the sensation of pen-to-paper writing or drawing. The display surface is also treated with a fingerprint-resistant, anti-glare coating to fend off smudges and distracting reflections.

ASUS Control Panel software offers convenient control when using creative apps such as Adobe software, DaVinci Resolve, Clip Studio Paint, and more. Control Panel provides users with a fully customizable dial, slider, button, and scroll touch controls, making it easy to assign controls to functions such as changing brush size or saturation. Control Panel also includes a new Color Management function to help creators optimize color tools. Additionally, ASUS collaborated with PANTONE to provide digital color data to ensure creative projects showcase the most accurate colors possible.

ASUS Dial is a physical controller that provides precise control in creative apps. The dial includes a switch allowing creators to select stepped or stepless mode. It also offers customized shortcuts that can be used to zoom in and out of images, or to easily adjust brush size. The default interface can even be tailored to suit individual work styles.

PA169CDV offers several ports to cater to creators’ needs, including a single cable USB-C® solution that supports DisplayPort™ Alt Mode and power input simultaneously. Plus, there’s another USB-C port that’s solely for the power adaptor. There’s additional flexibility in the shape of an HDMI port for compatibility with various input sources.

PA169CDV has two built-in kickstands that prop the display up at different angles. The lower kickstand provides the ideal viewing angle when using PA169CDV as a secondary display for everyday productivity, and the upper kickstands tilt the display at a shallow 17° angle for various creative tasks.
