BIOSTAR Supports Upcoming H55 890GX Chipsets In New Motherboards
BIOSTAR will highlight its latest products during Cebit 2010.
BIOSTAR is releasing H55 HD motherboard based on the Intel H55 chipset. The motherboard will be available with at an MSRP price of US$75. The
H55 HD is a micro-ATX motherboard with black PCB design and supports Intel's 45/ 32nm Clarkdale Core i3/ i5 processors. These CPUs integrate the Intel GMA HD graphics engine. The motherboard
Aimed at HTPCs, it offers HDMI + DVI + VGA outputs; one Gigabit LAN connector; USB 2.0 and PS/2 for keyboard and mouse; and Realtek 5.1 channel HD Audio.
The motherboard also supports Biostar's "Game Boost GT60" technology, allowing users to easily overclock the built-in GPU of Intel's Clarkdale processors. The technology is offering a 60% performance boost at 3Dmark 06 benchmarks, according to Biostar.
The H55 HD is also featuring the "BIO-Remote Utility" - an on-board Consumer IR header and a MCE Remote Controller certified by Microsoft. "BIO-Remote" works with the MCE in Windows 7 and allows users to access TV, Music, Photos or any kind of digital media using an on-screen menu. The "BIO-Remote Utility" and Remote Controller Set are available on selected motherboards including the Intel H55 and the new AMD 890GX series.
Speaking of AMD, the new 890GX chipset is expected to launch on March and Biostar will support it with the new T-Series family of motherboards, the "TA890GXE". The motherboard supports AMD's "Leo" platform with AM3 processors as well as the upcoming "Thuban" Phenom II X 6 six- core processors, as well as DDR3 memory. Featuring an internal graphics core clocked at 700MHz, DX10.1 and UVD 2.0 support, the motherboard can be setup to run Asymmetric CrossFire configurations.
Other features include HDMI 1.3a, DVI-D Dual Link, Optical S/P DIF HD Audio output, 8+2Ch Blu-Ray Audio Ready, SATA3 (6Gbps), e-SATA, IEEE 1394, on-board 128M DDR3 side port memory, GbE LAN and 8 channel audio support. In addition, it also supports BIOSTAR's "D.P.U Digital Power Unit", "G.P.U II Green Power Utility" and the "BIO-Remote Utility ."
The TA890GXE motherboard will be also compatible with Biostar's "GTO 63" utility, which will support the Phenom II 6-core processors and will allow the overclocking of their GPU (60%+) as well as SATA 6Gbps.
Last but not least, Biostar will unveil the "BIO-unlocKING" technology, which allows you to activate the ACC function of AMD processors. AMD's AOD w/ACC feature (advanced clock calibration) has been a super hot topic last year. Users will be able to now enable the ACC function and unlock the extra 3rd or 4th core of a processor with a simple click of their keyboard. In addition, "BIO-unlocKING" will allow users to turn off some core(s) of theri CPU for to save power.
