- Crucial P5 2ΤΒ NVME SSD

Crucial enters the high speed NVME area with the P5 series. The Crucial P5 SSD is engineered for serious gamers and creative professionals who demand quick response times when editing, designing, gaming and multitasking. The drive features read/write speeds up to 3400/3000MB/s, delivers seamless performance with Micron’s TLC 3D NAND technology and controller, and offers capacities ranging from 250GB to 2TB for ample storage. This powerful combination allows operating systems and apps to open quickly and games to load easily so users are ready to play.

For gamers who want battle-ready PCs and on-the-go professionals who demand laptops that work as hard as they do, the P5 is built to be reliable. Dynamic write acceleration, error correction algorithms and adaptive thermal protection work together to optimize performance and durability. Crucial SSDs also undergo thousands of validation hours and dozens of qualification tests. The P5’s endurance is rated at MTTF greater than two million hours for extended longevity. Data security is also enhanced with rapid, full-drive encryption capability, helping to protect data from security threats without performance degradation.

- Features

Whether you're playing high-end games or running demanding applications, the Crucial 2TB P5 NVMe PCIe M.2 Internal SSD delivers the storage and performance you need to load both expansive levels and large project files. The solid-state drive utilizes NVMe technology and the PCIe Gen 3 M.2 2280 interface to achieve sequential read and write speeds of up to 3400 MB/s and 3000 MB/s respectively. The drive also includes Crucial Storage Executive and Acronis True Image to manage the drive's health and to back up essential data.

High-Performance Storage

Featuring Micron 3D NAND technology, the 2TB M.2 NVMe solid-state drive takes full advantage of the PCIe 3.0 interface to deliver up to 3400 MB/s sequential reads and 3000 MB/s sequential writes.

Built for Endurance

The drive is has a mean time to failure (MTTF) rating of over 2 million hours, with over 1200 written to help ensure its longevity and reliability.

    - The Package/Overview

The Crucial P5 2TB NVMe SSD comes at a price of 350 Euro over Crucial's website, however users can find the product even lower ~300Euro at retail market. The retail box is rather typical for a Crucial product and has all the logos for users to identify it. Inside the retail box you wont find much, just the SSD drive:

The product has typical dimensions for an M2 2280 NVME drive

and can be used in all situations that you have an NVME slot (either in desktop or laptop use).

The P5 series also come with an 250GB model (~56 Euro), 500GB (~71 Euro), 1TB (~133 Euro), giving users many choices to buy.

    - Installation

Not much to be said here, just get the drive and plugit at an empty NVMe slot. In some boards you have to change Bios settings to Storage: PCIe in order to get the drive recognized. After formatting the drive, users can expect around 1.81TB of free space

Before we start our tests, we can get some info for the drive via the Crucial Storage Executive software, the latest firmware has been already installed.
